Tsukineko - Questions and Answers

/StazOn Logo
Q: What is Staz-On ink?
A: Staz-On is an archival ink, containing a small amount of solvent. The solvent base makes StgazOn ideal for use on non-porous and semi-porous surfaces. These surfaces include glossy paper, vellum, metal, acrylic, acetate, plastic, aluminum foil, ceramic, leather, CD’s and much more.
Q: What is the best way to clean Staz-On ink off stamps?
A: Tsukineko makes a cleaner specially designed for use with Staz-On ink. This product is Staz-On All Purpose Cleaner. The cleaner will not harm stamps and will help avoid discolouring of rubber stamps. Apply the cleaner to the stamp, using the built in dauber top. Use a clean, soft toothbrush to help clear fine detailed areas of stamps. Rinse the cleaner off with clear water, and tamp off the stamp onto paper towel. Then air dry. Your stamp will look good as new!
Q: Will Staz-On cleaner work for any other inks?
A: Most definitely, Staz-On cleaner will work on all Tsukineko inks! It’s a great cleaning booster for Versa-Fine ink, which has an oil base, as well as any other Tsukineko ink.
Q: What’s the best way to store Staz-On pads to keep them fresh?
A: Always apply the inner plastic liner to the pad, before replacing the top. See our tip in the ‘Accessories’ section. Refresh the pad with inker, when necessary.
Q: How are Staz-On Opaque/Pastels colours different than regular Staz-On?
A: The Opaques/Pastels were designed specifically for non-porous surfaces and are more opaque than other inks when used n this manner. They are, generally speaking, a little faster drying than the ‘original Staz-On’. The ink consistency is a little thicker. It often does not appear as ‘opaque’ on regular paper surfaces because the paper is porous. Its opacity shows best on items like metals, acetate, acrylic, plastic, glass, CD’s, etc.
