Happy Halloween!

It's that time of year when little monsters and pixies, wizards and pirates make their annual visit to our door steps. Grab your camera and capture those special faces and costumes for your scrapbook pages.

Don't say this too loudly, but Christmas is just 8 weeks away - shhhh! As a service to you, our valued customers, we are pleased to offer our Wish List Registry.

Working with you, we'll register the items you are wishing for under your tree. Friends and family can then choose gifts for you, confident their choice will be something you want, need or just have to have!

Through our Wish List Gift Registry, we have helped many husbands, friends and family choose meaningful gifts for our customers, who were delighted to have their wishes come true!

Education, Hints and Tips

As many of our card making customers already know, we carry an extensive selection of Shimmerz, the paint that puts a little shimmer on your cards and scrapbook images.

For those of you not familiar with Shimmerz, or those who are hooked on Shimmerz, here are a few tips on how to get more out of these amazing paint products.

Although Shimmerz are water based, they can be used successfully on non-porous surfaces, simply by adjusting the application technique:

instead of brushing onto the surface, drop onto the surface from a paintbrush.
allow to dry, before adding another colour.

For a less formal effect, put 2 or more drops of complementary colours onto a glossy surface.

With a second glossy surface, 'smush' the colours together. Voila! Fabulous, new, glossy card background!

Stamp with Shimmerz by applying directly to the stamp, with a foam brush. Emboss with clear powder or leave to dry.

Create unique backgrounds by applying Shimmerz with a crumpled paper towel, sponge or textured brush. Choose 2 or more colours and layer them for beautiful effects.

Finally, be aware that a little Shimmerz goes a long way. Shake the jar vigorously before opening. Use the paint out of the lid. This helps keep your paints clean and prevents paint brush overload.

Glue Dots

Do you like using mini glue dots, but get frustrated with their packaging? Glue Dots has the answer, and we are very pleased to add the Glue Dots applicator as a regular item in our adhesives department. Like a tape runner, Glue Dots applicator lays down a dot in an evenly spaced line. No more fighting with paper carriers and crushed boxes! In the familiar light green, the Mini Glue Dots applicator is now in store!

Creative Imaginations

A new school year began just 7 weeks ago. If you need a fresh look for your back to school photos, try out newest line of papers and accessories sheet from Creative Imaginations. Remember green chalk boards with the script alphabet across the top? It's back! And for the primary grades, don't miss the cut and paste images on interlined paper. Lots of room for photos and journaling in this new line.

The Fall Island Scrapbook Crawl

They were definitely looking for candy, of the scrapbook and card supplies variety! All of us at Treasured Memories really enjoyed hosting the Island Scrapbook Crawl group.
